Coloured pictures from the early days of Sonthofen would not show piped hats ... these were introduced in 1962, befor the visors had no coloured piping!

Yes, piped visores are often seen on ebay here in germany ... but mostly you`ll find those of the bigger branches. NBC, music, recce and Heeresflieger are relativly rare ...
