Nice collection of pictures. But for the sake of forceprotection (securing our own troops) it's maybe smarter to blurring faces, numberplates and unitsigns.

Impressed by the very high quality and professionalism of these pics!
Great composition and photographers eye for showing how the Bundeswehr conducts operations in Afghanistan. Bundeswehr Combat photographer most probably?
Most pics are already more than 6 months old so no big threat to those personally involved or unit id during these ops. Do trust thse men know that these pics are published on the web /waf and most probably elsewhere aswell. Big compliment! Do make a book and keep up the good work guys!
Going back to sandbox aswell soon...

Good to see that the mates now have improved wepons on hand.
The only BW Gun I ever had in my Hand was a G22.

Nice update to a great thread. I really enjoy seeing the photos featuring German and American Soldiers working side by side.

Are those American MICH helmets they are wearing? Is it usual for Bundeswehr soldiers to wear American helmets instead of the m92 Gefechtshelm?

It's just a patch (moral patch).

                      Yes it is.
                      Some units get them issued.
                      It's called Gefechthelm,Schwer,Spezialkräfte.

Anyways, some soldiers rather wear an ACH (private purchased) instead of the issued Gefechtshelm.
The ACH has many advantages compared to the Gefechthelm.
One of them is the better protection class (Level IIIA) and the possiblity to war a Com. headset under it.

                      Cheers,
                      Philipp

                        JeroenP,

The private purchase helmets Tovarish is talking about are made by TIG. I did a thread on them a few months ago plus the com gear worn with them. If you are interested, you should be able to find it if you search this sub forum.

                        Regards,

                        Gordon

                                Gentlemen,

If Generalfeldmarschal Erwin Rommel was in the present today,he would have had mixed feelings about the war in Afghanistan. I know that Rommel was an expert of desert armored warfare. His nickname the "Desert Fox" was well earned.

                                Sincerely,

                                Edward L. Hsiao
