I'm amazed that Delta allowed a camera to film their faces. I wonder if the Bundestag has allowed the KSK to serve in the ISAF?

I can only second that what speedytop has said. Unfortunately the Haar-und Barttrachterlass isn't always that enforced how it should be (IMO).
Honestly said, I don't know what so hard to have good clean shave and an appropriate hair-cut.
It's more likely a "common" thing that some soldiers who depoly to A-stan will grow a beard to get accepted by the locals.
@Vacollector.
Those are regular paratroopers. They are probably just part of "Delta" platoon.
There are hardly any photos of the KSK from the sandbox.
Cheers

vacollector,
It was suggested to me on another forum that the guys in the picture with beards might be KSK but I doubt it. The photo of the guy with the TC 2001 helmet looks almost as though it was a posed one and you just don't see posed pictures of the KSK with their faces showing. The same thing goes for JTF2 from my country. Thanks for your comments.
Phil,
Growing a bead because you are in Afghanistan allso occured to me. Makes sense. Can you tell us more about "DELTA" platoon please.

Gordon

all the guys shown in the previous photos are normal boots on the ground - mostly paratroopers. As I have already mentioned there are hardly any KSK in A-stan photos. I only have a few photos of the early stages of OEF showing the KSK riding in HMMWV's.
I don't know to which company of the PRT Kunduz these paratroopers are deployed to.
My guess is Inf.Kp. - Infantry Company - 4th (Delta in the Nato alphabet) platoon.
For the last 2 - 3 years we name the platoons "Alpha Zug", "Bravo Zug" etc. instead of "I.Zug", "II.Zug" etc. here, back at home.
The same goes for the troops in Afghanistan.
Cheers,
Phil

Phil,
Thanks for the additional comments. I asked about "DELTA" platoon because from the wording the two posts it could have indicated a special platoon within the company. Good to know that the BW has moved to a new alphabetical way of indicating platoons for the way it was done in the past.
The new pictures are great. Nice shot of how this individual carried his pistol and knife. The knife appears to be a private purchase piece. You don't see close ups of a wrist watch in wear either. This also appears to be a private purchase piece.

Gordon

Great pictures again ! Until now they are the best pictures I saw of the BW Isaf operation, especially of the armoured units!
Only one point I´ve to add for all those not so closed with german AFV ... the recovery tank shown is not of that type which is officially named "Büffel" as this is based on the Leopard 2 MBT and normally only deployed with the heavy weights as Leopard 2 or Panzerhaubitze 2000. Its an older Bergepanzer 2 (sometimes called "LS" for Leistungsgesteigert (Capability Improved)), based on the Leopard 1 MBT, which is fore sure strong enough to handle the "smaller" AFV as the Marder or the Fuchs.

Jens

Fresh released footage from August 2010
Note the M2 Aimpoint and the collepsible stock on this sweet looking G3
He is wearing a Berghaus Cyclops II Atlas rucksack - the best one you can get issued(IMO). I also have one.
