    Gordon,

I understand what you are saying and as with every great work written where vast amounts of information is available, perhaps it should be split into multiple volumes. For instance:

    - Vol. I: Heer & Luftwaffe
    - Vol II: Marine
    - Vol. III: Streitkräftebasis & Zentraler Sanitätsdienst

It would also drive collectors to want to have a complete set for their interests. Just a thought.

    Sincerely,
    DeWayne

      The end is near...

As most project my book needs more time to be finished then expected...but actually the layout is in a final stage. Thanks to a well known WAF member even the english text will be readable for native speakers without a mental problem afterwards... (thanks, thanks, thanks...)

To keep up the tension here comes a little sneak preview...

Most pages will come with two pictures but there will be more then one full size print ...

      Enjoy...

      Jens

jaeger7-de - Thanks for the heads up that the book is now in print.

I have adjusted the post so it does not appear to be a sales thread.

            Gentlemen,

My copy of Jens's book arrived yesterday afternoon. For those collectors interested in how uniforms were worn at the very beginning of the BW this is a "must have" book. I am not saying this just because my wife and I edited the English text. I always new this would be a worthwhile addiition to any BW collectors library. I waited to receive my copy of the book before commenting on it because Jens had said that the printed pictures came out much clearer/better than the digital images we had been working with during the drafting of the text. He certainly was right there. Jens needs a big hand from all BW collectors for the time and effort he put into bringing this book to completion.

            Regards,

            Gordon

Hello all - I just found out that there is a review of Jen's book coming out shortly from a German magazine. I will follow up when I get a copy of the write up.

                        Jens,

I just picked up a copy through a distributor on eBay.

                        Well done Sir!

I highly recommend it; an invaluable resource and very well presented. The contents will spawn many a thread I'm sure.

Kudos to Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Craig for the great translation work.

                        All the best,
                        TJ

P.S. - Don't know what to buy your Bundeswehr lover for Christmas? Buy this book!

                          TJ,

Dorothy and I did not do the original translation work. Jens did that. We just did some editorial work on sentence structure etc. Working with Jens on the book was a great learning experience for me.

                          Regards,

                          Gordon

                            Thanks for the flowers...

...Gordon, don`t minimize your and Dorothys share in making the English version a success! My first translation only had a rough shape - like cutting a sculpture with an axe ... ánd you did the finish!

                            Regards,

                            Jens

                                Small anouncment

At the moment I´m working on a second project in the stile of the "Andernach" book. This time it will contain 240 + pictures from private source ...again a mixture of uniform, vehicle and gear shots within the timeline 1956 to 1966

The primary selection of pictures is done, the german text is done and the basic english version is in progress.... so maybe it can be ready in 2014!
