G1 ammo pouch

I recently found a whole box (12) of these. They are stamped with different dates and MAX STELZER, H ROGGE, GOCK, among others...I couldn't find any takers locally, so I just put them on Ebay. ****************

Reviewing this thread I noticed the stamp in the upper left corner of this picture, punched in the lace holding the D-ring of a G1 ammopouch...and identified it as identical with the stamp on my RG34 shown some posts above. This made my curious ... after a little bit of research I´m shure that this symbol belongs to the BePo of Hamburg! So both items are not BGS but BePo, showing once more the standardisation of equipment.

Also I aquired some of the MP magazin pouches made of green fabric with black leather mountings... out of a bigger box two maintypes showed up. A perhaps older type only stamped "THW" on the D-ring lace and a younger one stamped with a NSN on right beltloop. Only two single pouches were different. One showing a ink stamp in the middle section (NSN etc, but no date) and one showing the makers mark and the date "1974" on the middle lace! Pictures will follow...

Team - I just came across this honor guard photo in the 1962 edition of the Deutscher Soldaten Kalender.

Nice view of the light furniture on the G1 and the leather G1 ammo pouches.

Klaus - Here at last are those pictures of my early BGS mess tins that I've promised you during the last decade.

This first one is marked “MEWA 0-53” inside a Mewa trademark logo.

Now that I'm looking at it, I'm not even sure if it's BRD manufacture. I seem to recall MEWA as a Swiss company. The overall look could also pass for DDR manufacture, although the color and trademark don't seem right for an East German piece.

If it is BRD, perhaps it's a better fit for a non-federal police agency.

Here we see it next to the "MEWA".

Thanks TJ. Interesting that you have 1951 Kochgeschirr with dark green paint. Someone told me that BGS start to paint them dark green in early 1960s. I am not sure if this correct or not.

Now here is my mystery Kochgeschirr. German dealer said it was early BGS. It is strange grey/green/khaki and marked PSL59. Colour is not same as ZB tan. Similar to WW2, except it is 3 pieces, instead of 2.
