It is Italian, Italia is the Italian spelling of their county and Egitto is Egypt in Italian. I don't know about India may mean something in Italian. The back is North Africa, I would guess it is pre to early WWIIComment

'Italy, Libya, Egypt, India'. India is the 'odd man out', otherwise it looks like something an Italian soldier or POW would make to pass the time, and perhaps sell. Maybe he fought Indian troops in North Africa - there were many present. Interesting piece and, I agree, probably early WWII vintage.Comment
