hey h0092991, put your Grandfather's name into this :

    http://www.collectionscanada.ca/arch...2010602_e.html

You can start here to get his ww1 service records. (make sure you adress your request to the 'document reproduction section' and ask explicitly for the entier record.

The Canadian Depatrment of Veteran's affairs can track down his WW2 record (but expect to wait about 6 months).

    Service Records:

    Library and Archives Canada
    395 Wellington Street
    Ottawa, Ontario
    K1A 0N4
    Telephone: 1-866-578-7777
    Fax:1-613-947-8456

    good luck

    MG

        UPDATE*

Actually the wife or her mother can't imagine how we got a hold of this cap badge, but i appears to have belonged to my wifes Grandfather on her Mother's Side. He served in WW1 and returned safely.

Found his Draft Papers on that site ... They were quite excited to know about the find

*Interesting Fact ... he lied about his age*
