    Badges of Disbanded Regiments.

    Hi,
I have just picked up these badges that have been lying around my parents house for years.
Most are Cap badges of disbanded British Regiments,1 Royal Norfolk shoulder Title, and an ARP badge that appears to be made of Hallmarked Silver?
Would like any info on the ARP badge that anyone has,ie where it was worn, and am interested in finding out if they are of any Value,as I don't really have any idea of British Militaria values( not that they will be for sale!!)
    Thanks and Regards.Lynton.

    First is the ARP Badge.

The ARP badge is brooched, this type was issued to women, the buttonhole fitting was used on those for men, they're produced in white metal & in silver. They were the only "uniform" that the ARP had at first. This, the women's type was issued in a small blue box marked with the crown & "Air Raid Precaution Services", the men's badge was in a red box.
The badges were worn in civilian clothes, photographs show the lady's version being worn on the female's brimmed trilby type hat & as a beret badge.

The "Middlesex" badge is the badge worn by the Middlesex Regt from c1898 - c1958

The Brittania badge is that of the Royal Norfolks - they were designated "Royal" in 1935, as were some other regiments, & this badge was adopted replacing the pattern with Brittania within laurel wreath.

The Cambridgeshire Regt badge is the common pattern, others having a battle honour scroll below the "Cambridgeshire" scroll, & there's a pattern with a mis-spelling of Cambridgeshire.

Basically, they're worth about £5 each - but of course they're worth a lot more to you if they're dad's, grandad's etc.
