    Victorian Badge Age?

    Hey guys,
Picked this up tonight, its obviously Victorian so pre 1902 but what age is it? Anyone know or can point me in the right direction to figure it out?

Could this be a shabraque badge for the 6th Dragoon Guards ( Carabiniers)? I cannot think of another regimental badge with the crossed rifles.

      It's a 1st Prize Marksmen Badge, A skill-at-arms badge for shooting.
There are 3 grades: white thread - 3rd prize, gold Bullion - 2nd Prize and the shown with a Crown for the 1st.
They came out around 1860, so the Crown is for the Victorian Era.
I think there is no special Regimental connection.
It was worn on the right sleeve.

The white backing is unusual and does indicate a Regimental connection, however, it is not possible to pin it down with certainty as it could be for several different ones.
The 17th Lancers, ASC and a few others come to mind. It was worn on the right sleeve only for regular army.

Thanks for the information fellas! I thought it was a marksmanship badge, not being an insignia collector I never even clued into the white backing being unusual. I will post a pic of the back when I get home tonight, there looks to be a WD stamp on it.
It's a beautiful peice and I had to have it when I saw it.

Pics of the back of the badge....you can see the remnants of the WD stamp on the back IMO.
