Montgomery Period Photo and Signature

Hi Gents

Please can I ask for some assistance here. I bought this last year and want to sell it, can anyone recommend a good auction house in the UK ? I was in the UK recently so I left the photograph with my Aunt. Or alternatively does anyone know of any Monty collectors? It truly is a once off rare item that is wasted in my German FJ collection

There are auction houses all over the UK, as I am sure there are in SA.

You are best putting it in a specialist military auction, say in London perhaps, I know I am most likely stating the bleeding obvious but that's all I can think of really

st pauls school

This awesome piece recently found its way into an antique shop here in South Africa
and I have been trying to find out a little more about it so if anyone can help with any info please would you contact me. I am sure there are some Monty collectors out there .

My other question is how do I value something like this ? If anyone could help please send me a PM.

It is dated 1906 and shows Montgomery as the Captain of St Paul's soccer team. It is signed Montgomery of Alamein Field Marshall. The photo is pasted to a cardboard frame and there is a tear on the left hand side of the cardboard luckily it hasn’t damaged the photo. The back of the cardboard has writing on it and it says Wain Wrights Football Cup Winners 1906. The size is 28 cm x 23 cm.

My great uncle, Maurice Firmin is on the rugby photo which is great to see
