To get back to England, Walter heads down East to Toronto, goes across the border to Buffalo, on to New York and back to England. The following Records follow his footsteps.

I need to back up a few years before I go on. Back in 1911 there was a girl that lived across the street from Walter. Her name was Rose Butlin. At that date just before Walter headed off to Canada, she was listed as 9 years old. Now, Walter was 18 at the time, so she was a little young for him, but they obviously were attracted to each other as time would tell.

Rose Butlin was listed with her family living on the same street as the James family, Cornwall Road, at No.4 Walter and his family were living at No.39.

Rose would have been 11 or 12 when Walter left for Canada in 1912. Maybe a childhood sweatheart? Whatever the case he was heading back in that direction.
