It's now about time that I framed some of my badges. A coherent display is difficult, so they tend to spend their time in boxes - not ideal.
I thought a good starting point would be WW1. Victorian, when the cap badge as we know it now appeared would be expensive. It pretty well holds good for WW2 with a few changes and of course the loss of some Irish Regiments in 1922.
As a display I've decided not to try to make it attractive and symmetrical but rather display them in their order of precedence.
Before I frame them I thought I share pics of them with you. One is WW2 type, more on that when we get to the badge, but if I don't get my a$$ in gear now I probably never will.
I have issues with the originality of only a couple of the badges and am always looking out for better ones.
The titles are those in use in 1914, and are shown in the Order of Precedence.
First up, The Royal Scots(Lothian Regiment). Red cloth was worn behind the voided centre by the 1st Bn., green by the 2nd Bn. Still in use today in it's disgusting Staybrite form
