sweet medals! had a look and seems his service papers didnt survive! his military medal card is available at the national archives! cost you 2 pounds to down load but its nice to have since the papers didnt survive!

heres his military medal card!
im pretty sure that G.J.Charlton is Gardiner Jackson Charlton from Durham who was born in 1896 and died in 1940 as theres no other Gardiner Charlton coming! and his first regiment was the Yorkshire Regiment and Yorkshire isnt a million miles from Durham!!Attached Files
