1944 Dated Commando Beret Fake or Original

    Hi All,

I advertised this beret before and it sold. The buyer has returned it saying that he can't see the date 1944 and says the grommets are not brass. I have now had another respected forum member look at it and I attach additional images to show the main points.

I agree the date is hard to see, but it couldn’t be anything other than 1944.

I would appreciate you taking time to have a look and comment. Additional images will be supplied as requested.

    Regards

    Allan

It looks good to me so I think that the buyer changed his mind for some other reason.

I agree with Mark. It looks fine to me as well.

                          Allan,

Another positive from me, generally the markings did wear with use.

                          Added this picture for comparison.

                            Very nice beret.

He probably found he couldn't get It on a head form when It arrived and so backed It to you with some bullsh#t excuse to put the onus on you. This happens a lot. For all their talk of dishonest dealers collectors are sadly, in the main a dishonest lot who will think nothing of besmirching someones reputation to get what they want. In this case his money back. I hope you don't refund him.

                            Yours, Guy.

Thanks and a Question on Refunds

                              Hi All,

Thank you very much for your replies so far.

I have said I will refund the buyer his money on Monday (Even though I am as mad as hell at him). I have done this becuase I believe it is part of the Forum's selling policy, that for whatever the reason orginal or fake, the buyer can ask for a refund.

"a) Returns must be allowed by the seller for any reason for a period of 7 seven days from when the items arrives."

                              Is this not the case???????

                              Regards

                              Allan
