Hi Mons...I have seen that you have changed your post....can you confirm that arrows 42 is not the date but the manufacturer code?...

        ciao

          Hi Alessio,

Yes /\42 was the manufacturer's code normally seen on 3rd patterns.
Actually looking at it again I think this is an early 3rd pattern as the blade has a V cut just under the cross guard.

            Hi Guys,
The 'V' grind on the blade is distinctive of a hand ground blade blade and not what pattern it was. Like Mons says, it could have been an early 3rd Patt but I haven't seen arrow 42 on anything other than a 2nd patt. That doesn't mean to say that there isn't a 3rd patt out there with this on it...... just that I haven't seen one in many years of collecting these knives
Mons, as far as I'm aware the stamp on the cross guard was put on after construction. Never seen arrow B2 stamped on the underside of the guard
It does look a very nice knife though
As to whether the stamps are manufactures marks or inspection marks, I don't think we know the answer to that one yet
Ade, you just couldn't resist in showing that lovely knife I will have to come round when you are out some time
Nickle 2rn Patt's My favourites!! Give me a shout if you want to move that one on I'll show you my ones sometime.
            Regards
            Irv
