i have seen ww1 brodies before with a red and yellow block,this was to identify regiments or divisions.i would say the later.usually it was an officer who had it painted on.i use to own a highland division with a white circle with a red hd letters painted on top.you could try searching the name in the helmet

I took some more pictures of it today in natural light and direct sunlight to try to show truer colours. I can't make out any faces or turbaned heads or any other shapes aside from the bar, but I did notice some red flecks I hadn't seen before. They appear to the left and right of the yellow central block, and strangely, also above the rectangle.Attached Files
