    Help with a Beret

Please find a photo of a beret I believe to be Canadian. Is this just a standard issue Canadian Army beret? Thanks in advance for the help.

That is a standard Canadian beret from Dorothea Mills in Toronto, this firm used at least 2 different stampings and seems the most common one.
Another Canadian firm is Grand Mere (=grandmother) knitting company.

Luc is spot on. The company is still in business making (mostly) civvy stuff but a few articles for the Canadian military today.

They are located very near to where I used to live in Toronto (East York)

      Cheers,

      Adam

About $30, I don't think they are that desirable.

Talking about Canadian Wartime Firms I could not believe my eyes when earlier this year travelling on a greyhound bus back into Toronto I saw a huge neon sign "Tip Top Tailors"

They made most of the wartime Canadian BD jackets. I didn't realise they were still in business.

Unissued 45 dated Canadian berets can be found fairly easily at military shows in Canada. Last few shows I was at there I saw plenty, always around $40 canadian which is $25-30 US. No offence Tex but what would make a 45 dated unissued beret expensive?

Ah, ok I see your Dutch. Now I understand Canadian stuff in Holland is twice the price if not more.

                    How about this one:
                    1945 Dorothea beret

Des, we Dutch, like the Scots, find most things expensive. It's in our nature.

What do you pay for an original Balmoral beret in Canada?

Price in Holland = around 60/70 Euro's, which is I think in USD is $80......

And what about an original black beret...?
