      Hi,

I saw there is also a 3 disc version available.
Any idea wat this has extra? It's not really explained in detail at the website.

Do you think that is because they have run out or that they cannot send it out till it has been released in the country its sent to ?

          Simon,

i bought the german version of this film today and it does NOT have english subtitles. Sound and subtitles only in german. (edit:just reading the relpy of prorege1 and the version on amazon obviously has english subtitles)

I am impressed to say at least of this film. Its really a good movie and its quite authentic from the uniforms and so on... They got even the ribbon bars right

In my opinion this film is a must-see for everyone, who is interested in the Third Reich.

Btw, i bought the book of Traudl Junge as well today. I am curious, how it compares to the film.

          best,
          Gerd

Amazon isn't clear. For an order I placed on Amazon.co.uk, it says "hasn't shipped yet. Delivery expected between X and Y." So I think it is probably the same. It will ship probably on Monday and be delivered between March 31 and April 1.

And Amazon.com will ship any item they have, so that wouldn't be a hold up. They don't wait for a release in particular country. That's why DVDs have regions. People buy DVDs with the wrong region all the time. The stores (and sellers on eBay) just have the attitude that the consumer loses because the package is opened.

For music imports run high because an album might be released sooner. That has changed more and more, and now many films get the world wide release date.

There was a 2 page review of the film in todays Daily Mail , I think it is going to be big over here also. My local UCG cinema gets it on April 15th ,although its realease date in the UK is the 1st april.

Just received my copy from amazon in Germany today and can say that the film is superb and the English subtitles are fine.

I saw it! It was playing in Philadelphia in a tiny artsy theatre. I was well impressed with the acting of the lady that played Traudl Junge (sp) and Hitler. I definitely recommend it and once it comes out on DVD I will get it. The subtitles weren't distracting in the least.

Well I'm going to get a zone free dvd player as has been suggested here and get this thing. There are a few more movies out in other countries that I won't see here in the the U.S. for some PC reason or another.

Bought the German special edition and it has English subtitles.
Extras on second DVD are mainly making of, interviews and a virtual bunker tour.
                          Cheers, Frank

Region-free DVD players are available on eBay for under $50 (shipping is where they get you!). Worth every penny.

And it isn't a matter of politically correct reasons, but typically some legal reason. Some movies, and TV shows, haven't been released on DVD because the songs on the soundtrack aren't cleared for home video.

I had my bog standard SONY region 2 player converted at a specialist store. Ask around a bit, google some and check some newsgroups, every bigger city everywhere has some guys converting every player to region free. Costs about 50 EUR, never had any problems for years.
                              Cheers, Frank
