Also, still looking for a scan of a couple of pages from Detlevs book.

    Thanks to all so far

    1. Detlev's book is "also" in B&W ... no color pics.
    2. It is a decent overview of a vast selection of several badges / awards from late 1800's through 1945.
    3. 85% is from the period 1933-1945
    4. Has some pretty decent detailed pictures of a "variety" of some of the badges of the Luftwaffe, HEER and Kriegsmarine.
    5. Decent detailed pictures of many EKs / RKs also.
    6. It says NOTHING about the Institution dates / number awarded / or history of the awards.
    7. It is a PRICE GUIDE .... first and foremost.

I will scan a couple of pictures just FYI:

    1. The Paratrooper Badge of the HEER.

        Mr. Lumsden,

I recently purchased your book, "Detecting the Fakes" and it, in conjunction with the shared expertise on this website, has already saved me from buying a rather expensive fake LW Badge. Thanks. Based on this, I will be visiting Amazon shortly and looking for "Medals & Decorations of Hitler's Germany"

        Thanks Again,

        John Kelley

The book I did in 2001, 'Medals & Decorations of Hitler's Germany', is the only one I know of that covers all of these criteria above in a single volume and a reasonable price, and it's in colour and hardback too. You can see it on my site
        www.robinlumsden.com
and get it through Amazon for less than $20.
        There - plug over.

Thanks Darrell for the pics. Based on the above posts I think Robin's book is the best option for what I want.

          Thanks all for their help.

          Cheers

I have now ordered Robin's book as I came across a site that had pictures of the pages inside. You are right, as it is exactly what I wanted. So I am very glad you did blow your own trumpet for me .

BTW. I got it for $13.46 US and it was brand new

Thanks again to all that helped me in my little quest.

            Kind regards
