Always interesting the news and media has no other problems.

For the Germans here on the WAF jerks like tax affair person Uli Hoeneß well covered from the big political group CSU that sits with Telecom,Audi ect. in the managing committee from the soccer club Bavaria Munich (Bayern München).

Now he was again voted for his position as a president for this soccer club.
Money and politics rules ... Any other person would have seen the jail in hours ...

that guy should write a book about current present jerks that would help out a little bid more then digging in the dead past from 70 years ago.
Well said Robert. Well said indeed.

I think you are not the only one who did that but I would leave it as that. Not worth wasting time. You wont change such people. I am wondering how much €€ he has "earned"......

Good point Lucky. Very good point indeed.
He'd probably dismiss me as a fringe person in his own self dogmatic righteousness. I respect veterans of all wars. They went through hardships I've never gone thru and hope to never experience. God, it galls me to think that the likes of this sorry excuse of a do gooder is getting satisfaction and peer approval.

This strikes me as a very pathetic and cowardly move on the part of those instigating it.

Not to sidetrack the thread but on a slightly related note in the UK recently the BBC have decided to censor episodes of their 1970's comedy series 'Fawlty Towers'. This is in order to remove comments which were originally intended to be satirical and to make fun of certain viewpoints, but even on that basis they are apparently not acceptable in today's climate of political correctness.

This reminds me of when 'Huckleberry Finn' was being rewritten to make it more politically correct, then it was a slew of children's authors and books, now it's progressed to TV shows from as recent as the 1970's.

You would think that the TV bosses would be more preoccuppied with the fact that a long line of TV presenters from the 1970's (in Britain at least) have recently been outed as systematically sexually abusing minors, some of which happned on TV company premises.

But no, they'd rather retro-censor TV shows.

Sometimes I wonder what influential people in the media and entertainment industry are responsible for directly or indirectly are causing this trend of extremist PC. I remember watching Monty Python during the mid 80's that included comments about "because he's just a greasy Spaniard." Granted that is quite offensive to many people, but it was normal fare at that time. Now it would be scandalous.
Additionally, it seems to me that every age justifies its philosophies and attitudes by monopolizing morality as it was their God given right. This is true all across the political spectrum. For example in arguments involving gun control, abortion etc and each party enlists influential people to justify and promote their own agenda and version.

Many complain how kids these days are too soft and that previous generations were much more resilient such as never having used helmets, elbow pads, knee pads etc while biking when they were young in contrast to today's kids, but they forget that their advocacy of PC and "humanitarianism" is directly responsible for the very issues they are complaining about. Ie. the softening and molly coddling of today's youth. They don't seem to be aware that it's their meddling and irresponsible actions in the name of compassion, equal rights, compassion for humanity etc that are causing the very things they're decrying.

I remember my rugby coach as a 12 year old. Mr. Green. A tough old Sargeant major type. But a man you respected and feared. He'd yell at you, berate you in front of the whole team, expect and demand total dedication, motivation and every ounce of sweat, blood and tears on the pitch. But he'd be running with you right next to you. He was dedicated with a deep sense of commitment towards us kids in his charge. A real tough guy like Sir Alex Ferguson, but you knew he had your best interest at heart and looked after you with a genuine avuncular sense of responsibility. He built my character and I'm very grateful and I totally respect his character and methods. Men like him made the world a better and morally superior place. We need more men like him, but unfortunately, they're a dying breed.

The PC do-gooders who have unfortunately replaced such good, honourable men have created a morally bankrupt world. They claim to have morality on their side and abuse it cynically, but manipulate it nonetheless to achieve their own agendas. Moral superiority is not the property of these so called PC sensitive individuals, event hough they think they're entitled to it. In fact, it's been my opinion and experience that "old fashioned" people have the morale upperhand, while the so called PC do-gooders lack morality, but falsely claim it in a most deluded and self righteous manner.

Josh makes good points. I think one easily detectable phenomenon is how boys are no longer allowed to be boys. I mean that not too long ago boys used to exhaust their excess energy through various shenanigans that basically hurt nobody, though it might have looked dangerous (and perhaps sometimes was...). Today, if someone gets himself scratched a bit, there is an instant furor over "endangering children". And the end result is school shootings etc.

Another ultra-PC idiocy is the hulabaloo over some words uttered to certain people during sports events. Not too long ago nobody was concerned over certain words beginning with n mouthed at black persons. And there was minimum of racial violence in Europe and if someone said something during the game, after the game it was all forgotten.

the most disgusting things about these candlesnuffers like Becker is that their civic courage is no more than safely and comfortably swimming in the mainstream bringing others to the social gallows. 75 years ago this `hero´would have hunted down Jews for social prestige. True people with dignity keep it without jumping on other people whatever the `zeitgeist´ is.
