Wow that was fast! Ordered Saturday night and book was in hand at 10:30 am Wednesday! well packed and even a dedication from Mark with his signature which was a nice touch!

So far a look through it and I am very impressed, awesome photos of choice insignia and some great wartime shots of SS insignia in wear with several veteran first hand accounts telling how the shown insignia was acquired on the battlefield.
overall book quality is excellent with very good quality paper used, very little wasted space as all pages are crammed with photos and text!

I can't wait to give it a cover to cover read and would recommend this book highly to SS collectors or even the casual collector after just a quick hours thumb through!

edit; the book as a great section for uniform/headgear cut off insignia junkies showing battle worn pieces from collar tabs to entire sleeves and all matter in between!

        Received my copy today.
Well done to Mark for achieving a look and feel similar to mikes other solo/joint publications.
Something for everyone here and with some waffen SS history thrown in its equally open to the casually interested as much as the collector.
Plus from a historians point of view it remains refreshingly objective throughout.
        Thoroughly worth the money
        Regards
        Jim

          'It's Militaria PORN-I love it!"

Steve F, a satisfied customer in Texas wrote the above-captioned description of this book. It is a feast for the eyes and contains a lot of new information for the mind. Only 1,000 copies were produced of this limited edition; don't miss out. You can order it here:

            Received my copy today.

The book really fills a gab for the Waffen-SS insignia collector and for me personally it came at a perfect time while I'm diving further into collecting uniforms and insignia.

Great collector pieces shown in many variants with detailed descriptions in superior printing quality make this book a new standard for many years to come for the Waffen-SS insignia collector.

One point of critizism though: I would have not mixed SS insignias with 1-2 page articles about the Oradour massacre, commited war crimes from all sides, graphic pictures about the horror of war, etc. That material is very sensitive, a world of its own and would have belonged better in a seperate book with a destict specific and scientific treatment.

All in all a very recommendable reference book for the Waffen-SS insignia collector!

            Cheers,
            Markus

Agree with you..the book kind of gets side tracked on other subjects....

still a good book...what I didnt like is how it mixed original insignia with artifacts on debate (LSAH cypher with drilled holes)....I would have prefered if it had only pictured pieces that are proven originals only....

I agree there are a few fakes in that book (for instance a TK skull button) and some opinions/explanations I would not agree with. However, anyone show me a book that is perfect.

My conclusion: It's a nice work and well worth the money, go and get one.

                Cheers

My recommendation wasn't exactly aimed at you, not least because I was under the impression that you already possess a copy. - It occured to me you are well familiar with this book's content...?

Nevermind, you too get one if you didn't already.

                    Ta-ta!

2 SS Book authors at the SoS, 2001

Myself (M. Bando) with Ulric of England in Feb. 2001. This was only 7 months before the terrorist attacks which forever changed our world.
I was looking through Ulric's huge tome on the Allgemeine SS yesterday
and it occured to me how nicely the recent Beaver Insignia book on W-SS
insignia dovetails so nicely with his work. It's almost as if we conspired to
put in each of our books, what is not in the other's. But there was no such
plan, it just worked-out that way. Ulric's book is so comprehensive in depicting SS items, it is almost like a SEARS catalog of SS memorabilia and
                          artifacts.

                            re: Amazon.com orders

I am working to get the Beaver Insignia book listed on Amazon, as
an alternate means of ordering it.
