I saw a Bridge too far when I was 14 around 1979-80, I remember liking it then, but it's a bit hazy. Should get a copy & watch again.

Eye of the Needle another one I liked.

I think with Steve Mqueen escaping at the end The Great Escape would've been better.

What is so bad about Das Eiserne Kreuz?

Apart from Vilsmaier´s Stalingrad show me one other movie that really depicts the face of war in the east with possibilities of today.

The lastest version of The Wannsee Conference is this one. I liked it and cheap to buy on DVD.

I think any film that doesn't portray the Wehrmacht soldiers as a bunch of bumbling, incompetent almost comical clowns waiting to be mowed down in droves would get my vote!

Honestly, things like where eagles dare, the dirty dozen, the dirty dozen: the next mission, the dirty dozen: the deadly mission, the dirty dozen: the fatal mission and the original "Inglorious Bastards" from 1977 are bordering on comedy, the Germans are portrayed as absolute imbeciles who can barely shoot straight! And die in incredible numbers fighting the most unlikely "heroes"

I voted for Great Escape, because its so 60,s and an enjoyable to watch movie.

When did they make 'Band of Brothers' into a go watch movie? Bit like a loaded deck. imo
