    Honestly....

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!! ...but only 'cuz it gets me action senses tinglin'!

I just love how some are sore losers at the end and the comebacks they throw at each other. Plus, the fight scenes ain't all that bad.

But still...why the heck did they have punji traps and bouncing betties when they coulda just used their friggin' grenades.
Plus, I doubt the C96 and the MP28 were heavily used once production was in order.

Is it me, or were the "reenactors and historians" missin' something?

Then again, this is the show that showed a luger when it mentioned a P38...

If anybody wants to see just how bad it was it's on again tonight at 9:00.

I do watch the show just to see the different weapons and how they are used, but it really is crap. Their testing methods are ridiculous and the show has no scientific merit. I wanted to shout at my television when I saw they had the C96 as the sidearm of the Waffen SS.

@Death-Ace - Yes, this was the show that showed a Luger while talking about a P38.

You could tell the show is crap just looking at one of the "experts". He had some Chinese Repro M36 variant on with flectarn pants.

What a stupid comparison to make. The situations between these two forces were far too different. They should spend some more time doing research on the separate topics and make individual shows for each.

Viet Cong defeated the US Army (when did that happen?)
Well there is quite something wrong with flat out saying the VC defeated the US Army, but considering it was our goal to contain the spread of Communism, I guess one could call it a pyrrhic north Vietnamese victory. Due in part to Case-Church Amendment rather than a lack of fighting ability from the US Army (to not detract from their service during the war). I guess that is a completely different point altogether...

Only thing missing is Jerry Springer as host

Your telling me, everyone know that the C96 was more of private purchase weapon than a issued one. That is not to say that some were never issued but I think it was few and far between. The Mp28 was most likely issued in limited number. They would had been better off saying the MP 40 or even the Soviet PPSH 41 since thousands of them were captured by the Wehrmacht.

                  Poor research

There is a Canadian made show called Greatest Tank Battles. It's on History Television here in Canada. I started watching it & was impressed at first. Then they made a huge mistake. In one of the Battle of the Bulge episodes you're shown a sequence involving an animated Jgdpz IV. However, the narrator describes it as a Jagdtiger. I could understand how someone could make a mistake like calling a Hornisse a Nashorn as they were basically the same vehicle with a few minor differences. The Jgdpz IV & Jagdtiger were completely different vehicles though.
