    The German Postwar Invasion

Saw a documentary about German Paratroopers on the History Channel a few years back talking about the German Airborne Invasion of Crete ........in May 1947. Very well researched indeed

      Worst mistake

      Hello,
Did anyone catch on the Spike Channel (Waffen-SS vs Viet Cong). What a joke.

Yeah, I saw that the other day. It's called "Deadliest Warrior". I sort of enjoy that show just to see the weapons and how they are used, but the way they conduct their tests is ridiculous and the show has no scientific value whatsoever.

The SS vs. VC episode was by far the worst in my opinion though. They actually claimed that the primary weapons of the Waffen SS include the C96 and MP28. I wanted to scream at them through my television.

I remember in a previous episode when they were talking about the Walther P38 and showed a picture of a Luger.

I know this is not about Germans, but its the only one I could think of. I was watching some documentary about WW2 reenacting in England and they had 101st Airborne reenactors and said during WW2 the 101st consisted of Apache Indians who wielded Tomahawks and sported Mohawks (which some real troopers did I believe.)

                Guy,s
I was really looking foreword to the series 'America The Story of Us'
Incredibly disapointing and full of mistakes. I believe they completely miss out
                the War of 1812!
In the end I could,nt watch anymore, it got on my nerves.

When I saw your signature I burst out laughing, Sellers at his brilliant best.

Apparently he,s a professor of some university here in the States. I hope it is,nt History.

The worst mistake that I've seen recently: there's a show called "Greatest Tank Battles" & in one episode a Jagdpanzer IV is identified as a Jagdtiger. Someone didn't do their homework...

When the former Liberal PM of Canada Paul Martin talked about Canada storming the beaches of Norway...or the Liberal defense minister John MacCallum stating that Canada had stormed Vichy ridge!

Thank God one is retired from politics and the other has been relegated to opposition.

its a amazing how little research documentary do!was looking at "greatest tank battles" and they went to the trouble of doing a big and long animated sequence and starting talking all about the jadgtiger and go through its stats and they actually had animated a whole section of jadzpanzer!!!it would have taken a quick google to have gotten then right!!!

true but for me it was more that they went to the time and trouble to actually animate the this whole 2minute scene at id say great expense and then dont bother with the research!!

I'm pretty sure that I've seen this same series & episode on History Television here in Canada. I've seen the El Alamein episode where the British Grants are all shown with muzzle brakes on their 75mm guns. I've never seen muzzle brakes in any of the Grant/Lee photos that I've come across. These kinds of mistakes end up spoiling what is otherwise a pretty good show. It's a shame these researchers screw up like that.
