It's Alta and it's a large town (for North Norway at least). The fleet anchorage was at Kåfjord. It's where, amongst other things the British X-craft (mini-subs) attempted to sink the Tirpitz in Sept.43.

Where were the SS insignia on their sleeves, collar tabs, helmets?

SS soldiers would never attack on foot, en masse, like that. They were trained to attack with flanking movements, as well as head-on....

That box that the kids pulled out with all that stuff inside was definitely of post-war manufacture.

Everyone knows that zombies would not be able to exist in freezing weather. They wouldn't be able to move.....Their joints would freeze solid, because they have no body heat.....
hehehe i dont seem to recal any historical records of SS zombies in general!!!!
but if SS zombies were to attack you sure they wouldnt attack head knowing they cant be killed?(again)!!!!!!!
i thought it was a fun film that you cant really take seriously like any zombie film!!!!

          Dead Snow

          Hello,
My wife and son bought the movie for me for Halloween (I do like Zombie flicks). The local Best Buy was having a scary movie Blue Ray DVD sale and it cost $10.00.

I just watched it. I am glad they just paid $10 for it. It was not bad, but I still think I prefer Shockwaves. BTW, why was the SS officer wearing a silver wound badge on his neck tie? Why Allgemeine uniforms?

Still it is a silly movie and I will break it out once a year for Halloween.

          Regards,
          Jody

It's a fun zombie movie, doesnt matter if the uniforms are accurate or not. I guess they used the black uniform as it comes across more sinister/death connotations.

            Was worth a watch!

I'd recommend Outpost if none of you have seen that yet.

Good heavens. I just saw a great real historic movie called Nordwand/Northface. 2008. If u want quality, please see that instead of this insulting tripe. It had me on the edge of my seat and had the adrenaline pumping the whole time. Talk about genuine comradeship, self-sacrifice and will power.

Dead Snow 2 just came out in the US on Netflix.
Not as good as the original, but it had some funny moments.
They use a (repro) tiger, and used an "unusual" method to siphon gas to get it running:

I despise these movies that perpetuate German soldiers as some sort of freak show. It doesn't help that those who portray them are indeed social freaks. C'mon already.

I had to bring this thread to the top! "Dead Snow" budget was like a Spielberg budget compared to Jess Franco's Z movie "Oasis of the Zombies" . (Afika Korps ambushed and buried in a mass grave...coming back to protect the imminent discovery of Rommels' gold!) Then there was also "Zombie Lake" (aka "lake of the Dead" ...... Touching story of a german soldier who, along with his entire platoon, are killed by the resistance and dumped in a remote French lake. germans rise from the lake ( you can actually see where the underwater scenes are filmed in an Olympic sized swimming pool! ) to wreak havoc on the 1970s population. One of the zombies has a change of heart (?) when he finds his daughter by his wartime French girlfriend)and tries to convince the other zombies to abort mission! CLASSIC! Both movies are from 1981 so be prepared! If youre looking for historically accurate uniforms and somewhat of a plot..Look elsewhere. If youre looking for some late night drunken fun with enough HAIRY BUSH to knit winter socks for the entire 16th SS "Reichsführer SS" THIS IS THE FILM FOR YOU!

If you think the uniforms in "Zombie Lake" are a bit goofy, check out "Oasis"! The skeleton below (laying around the palms in the early 80s still) is an example of the dashingly outfitted Afrika Korps!

                                Dead Snow 2

                                Hello,
I actually got the movie for a Christmas gift, we found it silly but entertaining. It is more of a comedy along the lines of Shaun of the Dead.
