    One, this thread is darn near 2 years old.

    Two, the OP said he was into the European and Pacific theaters.

      "Flying Forts" by Martin Caiden. His telling of Jay Zeamer's MOH B-17 mission in the Parific got me started on WWII. The only time 2 men on the same plane got the Medal of Honor for the same mission (his bombardier Joseph Sarnoski was the other). They were attached by Saburo Sakai and others of the Lae Wing.

            2 Eggs on my plate. Norwegian commado parachuted back into Norway,Parachute caught landing gear of Blenheim, smashed knee, managed to get free & land in a tree miles off course & walked for days with wound to safety. Radios german shipping movements, never caught, but very close shaves.
