I haven't decided yet what my favorite is, but I must say that it isn't 'Midway" ! What a lousy, slapdash turkey, about one of our most important victories. It's riddled with errors awful special effects, and bad acting. Definitely needs to be redone, IMHO.
I would definitely include 'They Were Expendable".

You also forgot many classics suc as: "Bridge at Remagen", "The Eagle Has Landed", "Where Eagles Dare", and "Kelly's Heros".

You also left out many of the great newer films such as: "Saving Private Ryan", "Enemy at the Gates", "Letters From Iwo Jima", "The Thin Red Line", "Flags of Our Fathers", "Band of Brothers", and of course the newest one, "Valkyrie".
Daniel Craig has a new WWII movie coming out too. I can't remember the title though? I think he is a Russian or Polish resistance fighter on the Eastern Front. Looks good!

This is a great question, but for me, there is really too many movies to chose from. I think my favorite is probably "Band of Brothers", but that's not really a movie, more like a mini-series.

I like "Kelley's Heros" because it's more of a comedy movie. I like "Das Boot", and "The Enemy Below" as my favorite sub movies. "Midway" is one of the best movies about carrier battles, and is loaded with big time actors!
I think for an all time favorite though, I'd have to go with one of the newer films. I really liked "Letters From Iwo Jima". I liked how it showed both sides of the war, and was very accurate, and powerful. I also liked, "Enemy at the Gates" (without the love sceen!)

Yet, I remember when "Saving Private Ryan" first came out. I went to see it, and I remember it was the first movie I ever saw when everyone lef the theater in complete and total silence. Many vets where there, and were crying as well! It really hit people hard. Great film.

I think one thing we can all agree on though,... Is that "Pearl Harbor" sucked!

                      Matt
I agree with you Matt.I really like the film,The Enemy Below, which I first saw at the theatre in ,the late 1950's when it first came out.Other favorites for me are;Sink The Bismarck,Saving Private Ryan,Enemy At The Gate,Cross Of Iron,Das Boot, and many more!

                                "To Hell and Back"
My choice, no one could have played Murphy as Murphy did.
It was hard for him to relive the actual war even on screen.
                                Just my choice!
