I saw it last night. I'll be honest, I was pretty disappointed. It's hard to explain without giving away any plotlines, but it had a lot of really over the top moments that just had me rolling my eyes *cough*refridgerator*cough*vines*cough*. I just didn't think much of the story itself or how it resolved itself in the end. The actual meaning of the "crystal skull" is, imo, not something that has any place in the Indiana Jones universe. I could go into it more, but I don't want to give anything away. I guess it was ok for a mindless sort of enjoyment, but I think it is the weakest in the series and would have been far better if they'd just changed the names and not not tried to associate with with a classic trilogy.

I didn't think it was too ridiculous compared to some of the things in the earlier movies, like people getting their hearts torn out or jumping out of a plane in a life raft, or a bunch of people getting their faces melted off, etc...

It's Indiana Jones, it's supposed to be somewhat over the top.

I saw it and I though it was pretty cool. I havent seen the old ones for quite a long time, but it seems to me it was just as good, or maybe even better.
I liked it how it used several real urban legends or archeological data in the scenario.

For me, it was a good time, especially looking at Cate Blanchett's performance and her incredible blue eyes. And, the comic book 1950's Russians make fun bad guys. But I totally agree about the story line Andrew; disappointing and reaching too far. Speilberg is mixing his movies up, and the film should be retitled, but I will not suggest the perfect title now and possibly ruin the film for others.

Grumpier old men? You know, considering Ford, Lucas, and Spielberg have eclipsed the big 6-0.

Yes its sad seeing H Ford getting older compared to when we used to see him in the other Indiana Jones but time goes for everybody!

Well done and good Film tho!I hope they ll make the 5th soon!

I think also the Film would have been a great Movie in the 80s tho.

These movies make us going out in public painful for two or three years for us. I will now tell people I paint trucks to avoid 40 minute lectures on archaeology three times a day.

"Grumpier old Men?" No, not really, because I am not too far behind them.

Part of my suggested title would be "Indiana Jones meets __."

                        Russians speak out

Now the Russians are complaining about the movie - because they are being portrayed as Commies. They have nothing to complain about - along with the Japanese, the Russian WW2 stuff is being freely sold on eBay........

Saw it this afternoon. Any fans of the last episodes will like this one too. While I'm not sure the "hype" was worth the wait ... it was an entertaining 2 hours anyway.

I agree with Darrell.....and also....the crytal skull piece was not a typical Indiana Jones thing...but i guess in some ways it was.

A friend of mine that works shipping items for a company that supplies reenactors with kit (mostly uniforms and webbing) was bitching last weekend about the run on British Mk. VI gas mask bags...

                                Crystal Skull

We saw it Friday night and enjoyed it. Good way to spend a Friday night and spend $15.00. They had five screens going and it was packed. I didn't think it was good as the older versions but still entertaining. I really liked the dumb Russians and best of all Kate B. looked great in boots and tight pants!!! Great fun!
