    United 93

    Well I went to see this movie tonight.

    I didnt know what to expect. Let me tell you this:

    There are no sappy love stories, they don't spend 15 minutes on each passenger filling you in on their life and what they did up to boarding the flight.

    It IS a roller coaster of raw emotion. Shot with handheld cameras, it details the Confusion, the Horror and the absolute Bedlam and Pandemonium that reigned supreme on September 11, 2001. Unique perspectives from the Air Traffic Controllers, the Military as well as the people on board Flight 93.

    Although it's been 4 1/2 years since the events took place, this is a POWERFUL movie that will have you riveted to the screen for it's entire 100 minutes.

    A must see ....

    When the final scenes transpired and the final post credits started to roll, you could have heard a pin drop in the theatre.

    I remember this morning like yesterday and I know exactly what I did and what happened includeing phone calls to friends and trying to locate people.

    I personally see do not see any reason to capitalize on such short history, and I will not pay to see this and I resent it, as it is a capitalist venture.

    You can disquise it as good, but it was made to generate cash flow, and it is just way too close to home.

    But that is just one opinion.

      That, my friend is usually the primary goal of all movies

      However, there certainly is alot of controversy surrounding this one. Obviously hits a bit close to home because it happened "here" in America. I'm sure everyone remembers where they were, what they were doing on that day.

      A little different than the stuff going on in Afghanistan and Iraq. People dying every day, but no one seems to care even though that's shown on the news daily.

      I'm sure that it hits home for the relatives of the soldiers that are dying daily. Think CNN brings us the coverage for free? ... it's ratings .. it's capitalistic motive in LARGE letters.

      All in how you look at it I suppose

        You say "here" but your in Canada.

        Lets not make this something it is not, and there is no need for emoticons that give the impression that I might be short sighted.

        So you scratch your head and I will just stick with my original post thank you, if you want to try and turn this into a Iraq or Iran thing than start another topic, as I can already see what side of the planet you come from. <------------------

          It wouldnt make any difference to you if I told you I had a relative die in one of the towers? Before you jump to conclusions and assume just because I'm from Canada it didn't affect us here as well, you best think again.

          Canada has been losing soldiers over in Afghanistan lately as well if you havent heard. I've had a niece and nephew serving there recently.

          I'm from the SAME side of the planet as you ... it affects us all.

          ok ... let's keep the politics out of it ... I just commented on the movie. Let's just leave it there ok?

            I am just amazed that someone would attempt a film at this time in regards to that day. Its blood money as far as im concerned an I hope they choke on it.

              That's what most of the controvesy is about. It seemed to be on all the major networks last night. Not often new movie releases garner that much attention.

              Personally, despite all the controversy, I still recommend watching this one. Everyone can speculate how "bad" or "inappropriate" the film appears ... take a peek. Be one that has seen the movie to comment on whether it has it's place in theatres at this time

                I was there. I saw it happen. Wish I hadn't. Of my friends, two narrow escapes, one didn't make it. The TV news was sanitized.

                I didn't go to the Ground Zero viewing area and I won't go to any 9/11 memorials. As long as the untermensch responsible for 9/11 are sending us F.U. videos, there's nothing to put to rest or memorialize.

                But that said, I'll watch this movie and I'll recommend it, if it keeps the rage alive.

                  Flight 93

                  Hello,
                  I plan on seeing the movie next week, and I also see no problem with it. To be honest, I am rather shocked a movie about it had not came about earlier. I also think that it is good that people see it, for frankly in my neck of the woods, I know too many people that have already forgot about it.

                  As far as length of time, just look at WWII and see how fast movies came out during the war not long after the original event, i.e., Wake Island (1942), Guadalcanal Diary (1943), The Sullivan Brothers (1944), etc. When WWII ended just look at all of the war films that flooded the theaters during the late 1940's and 1950's.

                    I'm glad it has been done by a major studio and not a made for TV "Lifetime" movie. I'm not ready to see it yet, a bit too soon for me.

                        I'm not surprised. Hollywood would have made us "feel the emotional pain" of the poor terrorists. I hear this movie does not paint them in that light. I will go see it. 911 is like yesterday to me. I can't believe most people in America seem to blow it off like it never happened. No one seems to realize we are in the war of our lives, that will probably las the rest of our lives.

                          I don't think I will see it. The level of anger that I feel about September 11 is indescribable. And what makes me even more angry, is the pacifistic, coddling mentality that has infected this country (USA) towards these animals.When I see documentaries and movies about this, I feel such a burning vengeful hatred, that I can almost taste blood, and literally see red. I know that hatred only harms the person doing the hating-that is why I won't see it, for my own welfare. I need to calm down....................

                              Steven I saw it yesterday and it does bring rage. You probably don't want to see it in that case.

                              I found that I did not like the feeling and would be better off if I could feel a more zen acceptance rather than a refueled fury as Lucky Duck mentioned. All the hate seems to keep up a cycle of violence.
