I should point out for people who weren't around at the time volume 1 came out that it is not at all as detailed as the later volumes. It was more an extended "Over The Front" magazine type work than the extremely detailed later volumes: mo lists of recipients etc etc--I don't think Neal had any idea what it would turn into as a SERIES. That's why Neal wanted to re-do it, so it WOULD match the others.

With all you crazy people out there, I just didn't want anyone to be disappointed after paying a fortune to find that v. 1 isn't as expected.

Being in the business of encouraging crazy people to buy more and at higher prices, I'll reserve comment on that part. However, I've found that the buyers of volume 1 are happiest to complete the set and understand that the set represents an evolution of Neal's work.

After reading a post last year about Mr. O'Connor's books, I was able to locate Volume II, and purchase same for $38 US. After finding this thread about 2 weeks ago, I was able to locate Volume I, and complete the purchase for $23 US. Both volumes are near mint!

The Prussian volume was found through Book Finder www.bookfinder.com

The Bavarian volume was found at eBay's Half.com www.half.ebay.com/index.jsp

The the Bavarian volume does not contain all the information of the Prussian book, but the text is outstanding and the photos are pure gold. Well worth having.
