Some other WA members have written / released books on a variety of subjects:

Originally posted by DarrellDepends what awards you are after. Detlev's catalogue is specifically a "price" guide, however it does have some good pictures that you could use as reference. As well as a huge cross section of medals and badges.

Originally posted by Adrian StevensonHi John, I would treat yourself to it. There is a lot of stuff in it which I had not even seen before, so I was very happy with my purchase. I think it beats the older Forman's book hands down.
Cheers, Ade.

PS Can anyone recommend a good book on 3rd Reich ribbonbars AND a good book on gorgets? I think I have seen one (for ribbonbars) with Rommel on the front? It may have covered 1870-1957?

Unfortunately it is impossible to find collectibles at printed by him prices anymore. Inflation is killing us. Just wait for the 3rd edition. I hope for the color pictures and better presentation.

I have it and would say that it is worth the asking price John.
Same as Ade I was surprised how many goodies within I had never seen before.
Yes it is a price guide but still lots of good pics (BW) of lots of awards. The prices were way out on the day it hit the streets so don't think you have missed anything there.
If you like I could scan a few representative pages for you, let me know.
Cheers,
David. At Rathau on the Aller, the CO of 5th Royal Tanks advanced on foot to take a cautious look into the town before his tanks moved in. He encountered one of his own officers, a huge Welshman named John Gwilliam who later captained his country's rugby team, 'carrying a small German soldier by the scruff of his neck, not unlike a cat with a mouse.' The Colonel said: 'Why not shoot him?' Gwilliam replied in his mighty Welsh voice: 'Oh no, sir. Much too small.'

This is very good comment. I'm finding this little disappointing. So many different manufacturers for PAB's and only one small picture of it...
I guess it is better for Frank!
