Well for the raiñl I used a very thin plain wire, that I use to also make chikenwire for my 1/6 helmets, I dont know how to detal the size or brand, but you can get it at a hardare store, make sure you cut a pieze and soack it in vinegar to get rid of the shinny new lokk to it

the wire I used for the comunication wire I got at a local market, and has a nice twist in miniature, excelent, will see tonight when i get home if there is a brand i can give you, as it is perfect for the model!!

the thing abpout that scale is that is eassier to put together, handle nad paint, but its a good model to start with, in this case I dont know if the wire I have will look good in that scale, but what you can do is this:

Grab a piece of the plastic that is left once you take away the parts, get a lighter, warm it up untill a little flame starts blow it off nad then stretch, dont do it to hard or you will tare it apart, but as it begins to cool you will be able to control the thicknes of it, and get it to match the scale.

Then pait it gun metal and there you go

Also get as much picutres of the boat you want to make, lok at the details of the U boat type, also the years of the war you are protraying and the the are wher it operated, a u boat for the mediterranen will vary in paint scheem form one in the indian ocena or one in the north altantic,

also the the VII C had modifications added during the war years, nothing wose that do a model that is not historicaly acurate.

With all the info on the web you shuold have enough, also pick a boat and get photos of it and try to paint the tower embelm

Well, i have thin copper cables for wire I will paint that one.
The model is a C/41 Atlantic version.
              Now I have the following colours:granite gray,dust gray,steel(metallic)+antrachite,light grey,rust,fiery red.
So the U-boat will be a dark one, maybe U998 (1943).Don't know yet.
              This type wasn't so succesful.

                Nicely done...and realistic...

A little up date and now I can say i am finished, I know its not entirely accurate, but we could say they are close to port and havent rasied the victory penants but have displayed the kreigs flag........

I just couldnt resist to put that flag there........
