    Real toys!!!

    Hi guys Check out this bad boy!! I love to fly RC but I'd be too scared to even try this one.
    This model of a B52 actually has 8 real turbines at about $1500 each. It took over 2 years to build. It has a wing span of about 22 feet and takes multiple pilots, as there are so many things to control. Do you think they were nervous during the maiden flight?

      Dave - To follow up with what Jeff said...that was incredible. I know you said it took over two years to build, but you know howw many people it took to build the B-52? And do you know any of the persons involved in building the B-52?

          It's the same plane, what a shame.But if you are going to fly them you are going to crash them ,You can't get too attached to them or the hobby will not be for you.
          I only know what I posted,I don't know how may people it took to fly it.

            Dave - Thanks for the follow up post. The way the aircraft nosed into the ground and the fire afterwards, most of the plane must have been a total loss. To bad...

                A bad scene, made even more relavent when my own P-51 mustang corkscrewed right into the ground this afternoon! David is right. The only safe way is to never fly them! best wishes,

                  whats the point in having a RC plane if you dont fly it! might as well just buy a plastic model thats static!!

                    There is some truth in that but I do know some guys that just build and never fly them. It's not the same building flying scale VS plastic models. It takes real talent to build both but I guess it's just ones preference.

                        I didn't know you were an R/C pilot! I fly R/C also, in fact I also have one that has never seen the sky because I don't want to crash it. Tooo much time involved in that one, a FW190A, defense of the Reich. I fly mostly electrics but also have some old-school C/L glow stunt wings that my pop built from scratch back in the early 70's. Those things really scream! What brand is your P-51?

                          Hi Brian, I can't fly, but I like the planes, so I buy them and my uncle flies them. Unfortunately, I insisted on him flying in a heavy wind(gusts to 25-30 mph). The plane worked good for a while, until it was lost trying to make the turn after the downwind straightaway.
                          All this is in preparation to take my ME 262 aloft. I built this one, and want to make sure he has plenty of stick time before I risk a flight. It is modeled after a well photograhed wartime aircraft.
