Russia wars poland over war memorials

In my humble opinion, the Poles should do whatever they want.

    First, it is their country.
Second, let's not forget that when it was convenient, the Russians invaded and took over half of their country from September of 1939 to June of 1941.
Third, during that period, the NKVD snuffed out the lives of thousands upon thousands of the Polish intelligentsia, to include 6000+/- Polich Army officers in the Katyn Forest.
Fourth, in 1944, the Russians sat outside of Warsaw while the resistance fought the Germans until the Polish resistance was decimated. How convenient for the Russian Army!
Fifth, the Russians weren't there to liberate the Poles, so much as to put them under a different dictatorship. Let's remember that the Russians have historically hated a Polish nation.
Lastly, the Russians weren't so much 'freeing' Poles as they were simply fighting and traversing real estate, that happened to be enroute to their appointment with Herr Hitler in Berlin in April of 1945.

I have interviewed a couple of Polish women who fled with the Germans in 44 and ended up in Cleveland Ohio after the war. They tell the same stories about the Russian army as German women have, rapes, looting, and killings were par for the course and Poland was not spared from Ehrenberg's hate. IMO to keep these memorials is to insult the victims of these crimes.

We eventually lost our Empire because of going to war for the Poles, just for them to swap one dictator for another, and now the UK is full of them. A massive waste of effort for us.

"We eventually lost our Dictatorship Empire because of going to war for the Poles" ...

"We" could have done nothing ... let The Nazi's roll up Europe ... Invade Britain .... Then what would "You" have had ...

(Mind you ... with all the Nazivestities about .. I'm sure "they" would feel this to have been stuff of their wet dreams... )

You lost your Empire when Mr. Chamberlain signed Munich Agreement in 1938 and announce that he had secured "peace for our time."
