    Ive just had a look at my thread in this forum from 2012 and just remembered Maisy Battery, Le Grand Bunker in Ouisterham, Douvres Radar Station and Longues sur Mer. A very small and crowded but killer museum just off Omaha Beach the list is endless mate. Like Helden I advise you to go after the June celebrations. We went late August and many of the sites were quiet and deserted. One can peruse at ones discretion and in tranquillity

      I suppose it's personal preference. The British & Canadians were knocked back from Caen a few times and it was fairly levelled as a result if I remember correctly. Just thinking now the museum there is basically a full day as it's massive, so if your stuck for time it might not be the best bet.

        I wen't to Caen in 1995. The museum was brand new and the town Ok to visit it. I am looking forward to made that trip again but this time for five days. Normandy is to intensive for three days. You may melt your brains trying to see and emotionally understand what happened there 70 years ago. The more you know the battle the more emotional you get.

        My photo album is my treasure...you can see myself in front of the museum and the ticket in order to enter the museum

          Le Mon st Michel isn't far from Avranches and was occuppied by the Germans during WW2, there is a picture of Ike in one of the bars there from what I recall. It's very nice to visit even without the military connection in my opinion. The Caen museum is not WW2 specific and takes about a full day to do. The problem with all of these recommendations is going to be time. There is a lot to see in that general area, even without planning on it you may see the little brown signs on the motorway signifying places of ww2 historical interest.

          Le Mon St Michel then;
