    "Was it worth it" no frankly it wasn't not when i look at this once great land turned into a third world slum by a load of limp wristed ,do gooders who think we should take in any stray dog,who incidently usually ends up biting the hand that feeds it so no is the answer..
    On the plus side I just heard that our NHS will be bankrupt in ten yrs. that should deter some of those buggers from coming here.
    There are certain politicians that should be put on trial in this Country for crimes committed against the indigenous population,our customs ,traditions and beliefs and what our ancestors fought for and if i had a say about the punishment for these crimes,I would be asking for the death penalty

      Indeed Bob, they laugh at us, mock us in Europe these days, and it angers me, I certainly know who I will be voting for at the next general election !!

      But to keep on track, the memorials future should be decided by the Greeks themselves

        As for allies they betrayed us many times .Dont know if they helped us or helped their side...It is big story.Sure in Navarino without them we couldnt win.But what about mikrasia, cyprus etc???

            I have signed the petition.Here is a picture of the graveyard looking out over the bay.What was shocking was the average age of the FJ's 18.19.18.19 and son on.
            I will try and dig out my other pictures from my attic

              I really enjoyed my time in Crete, I thought the Cretans I met were really friendly ! Had a really good chat and a drink with Andreas George Hatzidakis at his museum, posted a photo somewhere on here, I look forward to going back in a few years

                Υes cretans ,although i am not cretan,( and Greeks) are firendly.We dont forget british help in ww2.Thats for sure.dont worry

                    Indeed they are very friendly, so friendly that they feel no need not pay taxes and let us(Germany, Netherlands, france etc), the actually countries who fund the eu and being polluted with parasites in return, pay for all their dept and what not.

                    I am glad we can vote against the eu 22th of may.

                      v.3.Me counterfeit bill Reichs Kredit Kassenschine had direct plundering traders , direct looting of Greek money . Google acquisition of gold with 530,894 pounds in August 1941.

                      b.4 . Robbery currencies : penny , penny , talira , t = 37.77 paid only 104 gold sovereigns ( ! ) And took silver 18misi tonnes. From 2drachma , 1drachma , 20 minute blind , took 10 minutes 64.50 tonnes paid only 5misi sovereigns ( ! ) And took a total of 73 tons of copper .

                      b.5 . With the forced loan , note verbale on 23.03.1942 , imposed on Greece and had retrospective effect from 01.01.1942 . Balance , 3.5 billion dollars of 1938 purchasing power .

                        Christofer "Monty" Woodhouse's book The Struggle for Greece,about 1,6 mil golden crowns were distributed during 1942 to 1944 to Greek Resistance groups,mostly the Communists of EAM/ELAS...There was a payroll of one to two pounds a month for each guerilla fighter.All of the sudden,the non existing in 1942 resistance movement,grew up enosrmously...Some of a motivation.

                              look i agree that what happened in Athens was not good,and about EAM i agree with you,dont know by mistace or not but can not forget that we fought with Brits against Germans and together manage to be free now.as i told you before allies hepled us in many occasions but in other not.What we made our destiny is only ourselfs.our pathos made us all this thousands years alive and free
