The show is hanged and dead thanks to the militaria community waging war over CG and the archaeologists over the improper removal of remains. IT's a little too late to now ask questions, was it one body or 3, child or adult, war dead or civilians etc.

Maybe cooler heads should have prevailed all around to actually hear NG side of the whole mess [evidence] before the hanging rope was strung up?

I do not really care about him or what he does. In the end, his own behavior will be the biggest enemy he faces far beyond sticks and stones that can be vented here on the forum about what he does.

That said- when observations are made of pictures and human remains etc. and there is something to be said it should be noted or corrected.

Digging for badges etc. and shell casings is a lot different than excavating human remains. That is like the difference between bandaging a finger and performing surgery.

Just like excavating high explosive ordnance, exhuming human remains requires specialized training and should not be done by untrained people. If they are not qualified to do excavations themselves at the very least they should be closely supervised by someone that is fully trained.

Every thing about that show was wrong. The title, the marketing, the content, the premise, the execution you name it. Also the self serving lies and dishonest statements in the NG marketing material and their statement in defence of it. This is not to mention the copycat behaviour it would have encouraged or letigimised. The fact that CG was involved is in the end neither here nor there. The show would still have been wrong and still trashed. This is the point CG fanboys have decided not to accept.

If that had been Kim Kardashian (or any other reality tv star) crudely excavating & waving dead soldiers remains around do you think they'd get a more positive response ? Photographed 'trophy hunter' style over the remains of a badly excavated Eastern Front soldier ? I think the reaction would have been even worse (only there'd be no CG defenders rushing to the rescue).

CG was there because of his background in militaria. That is what he was trading on and participating as a result of. As militaria collectors here have a bit of background knowledge on his other 'adventures' in multiple threads on WAF (more background knowledge than they would on say Kim Kardashian) that is why some (e.g a fraction) of the response had a personal element. From my point of view he has invited it all on himself.

When I saw this video I thought it was the most f'd up thing I have ever seen involving the collecting community. The manner of the dig and what they did after they "excavated" the bones was immature and unprofessional.

I wonder how this will effect his involvement in Pawn Stars.

The only outrage is because many do not like Craig. Get over it, he is a star and the rest of us are not. If that is what you seek, go out and work for it.
