    National Geographic Announces New Series Co-Starring "History Hunter" Craig Gottlieb

    Series to Premier in April 2014 Across Europe

    Gottlieb holds a Skull uncovered by the team in the forest of Latvia.

    (PRWEB) March 27, 2014
    National Geographic Channels International (NGCI) has announced "Nazi War Diggers", a four-part documentary series that follows a diverse team of experts as it explores WWII battlefields on WWII's Eastern Front.

    The series, which airs on National Geographic's European channels next month, travels to remote forests and fields of Eastern Europe, where the team hunt down stories of war and uncover relics from the area's violent past.

    The team consists of Stephen Taylor and Kris Rodgers, both experienced metal detecting experts; Adrian Kostromski, a polish-born relic hunter; and former U.S. Marine and well-known historian and antiquities dealer Craig Gottlieb.

    Gottlieb is one of the largest-volume military artifacts dealers in the United States, and is known worldwide for uncovering key pieces of history including recently, Adolf Hitler's uniform. Earlier this year, Gottlieb uncovered a fake passport believed to have been used by Auschwitz "Angel of Death" Josef Mengele to flee justice.

    Speaking about his co-stars, Gottlieb is passionate. "I'm in the best company here," he says. "It's like getting to travel back in time to uncover stories never before told. And getting to do it with three smart guys who share my love for history ... that is a dream come true."

    The show is produced by award-winning British production company Clearstory.

      The 9 Point "Responsible Digging" Guide published by NG and quoted above (post #129) is brilliant as far as fails go for failing to spin its way out of the mess NG are now in, its a classic fail.

      Would NG like to comment as to why one of Gottliebs tard digging buddies (Kris Rodgers) managed to errm "overlook" all the points listed (except for #4 and # 9) when he and another tard chose to trash an Anglo Saxon burial site here in the UK. This includes breaking the law here in the UK. I cannot see NG would want to work with someone like Kris when 2 minutes on Google shows he is just as big a clown and crook as Gottlieb.

      They were so clever they even made a Youtube video about it here

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjZS...aiv4T_6uvzrVCQ

      Watch in amazement as he breaks a 5000 year old artifact by careless handling;

      Gasp as he produces items broken in half by his haste to dig them up before any professional archeologists are notified;

      Wonder in awe as him as his tard buddy communicate in a language that is almost like English;

      Consider if these guys have ever been trained to do ANYTHING in their pitiful shortassed lives;

      Ask yourself if this oxygen thief should even be allowed to dig in the garden with a teaspoon.

      It seems some UK professional archeologists think not; see here

          Production company was formed in 2010 its 'Clear Story' watched a bit of the vid again switched off when I saw CG tugging at a leg bone, I know nawt but you don't 'archaeological' dig like that you clear the area and do in stages taking pictures.
          Maybe JL will show us how professionals do it sorry Gentlemen I keep thinking of places like Iwo Jima and for us Brits the Somme would we want these clowns digging?
          I really don't mind if its done professionally by proper organisations this just makes me angry and feel sick. To think its about CG is narrow minded I don't care if he's there or not with these other bozzo's.

          Program should be blocked if they want to do something like this show proper authorities excavating in a respectful manner.

          Dion there's a big difference between people detecting dump sites and this I hope you agree.

            I was not the one suggesting there was NO difference as Simon also clearly pointed out.

            My statement was to illustrate their is a HUGE difference and now everyone that owns a metal detector is not a ghoul.

                This issue is exploding across many internet forums.

                Apparently death threats were isued against one of the Nazi Digger ghouls, who is also a mod on War Relics Forum causing the thread to be deleted.

                I would hope that it will sink Craig Gottlieb too, but I know better.

                This is a massive mistake on NG part and is badly back firing

                    Deep Digger Dan is a well meaning idiot.

                    He found a WW2 Soviet handgranade while metal detecting in woods near Berlin and decided to pull the pin and throw it. It could have blown up in his face after 70 years of rust and decay.

                    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKEu...NKaDHTy5blqLqt look from 14 mins into the video

                    It did not go off and hopefully someone will not come across it as he left it there

                          There are a couple of good links from that facebook page :

                          I am not buying the NG excuses one little bit. They are trying to hide behind the Volksbund name and it's not even close to working.

                            I was diectly told via e-mail that everything was proper and dandy. That does not realy go together with this statement from the Germans ( by the way, I don't think a show that is named "Nazi War Diggers" will ever air in Germany!):

                            " information posted on Bioanthropology News via Rob Schäfer “A German military historian (Rob Schaefer) has heard back from the Volksbund:” From Herr Fritz Kirchmeier. VDK Press Office: The producers of the show worked in conjunction with a Latvian recovery group (that also operates for the Volksbund) They found the mortal remains of one German and two Russian soldiers which have been reburied. The Volksbund is not amused about the presenation of the show and the choice of the presenters. They also wonder why the Latvian group was deliberately kept out of cameras way. Other than that, they had nothing to do with it and do not want to be associated with it.”

                                ADRIAN KOSTROMSKI
                                Adrian may be young, but he is far from inexperienced. He has been a digger since he was ten years old.

                                Adrian is Polish, but moved to Britain when he was eight and grew up digging for relics with his father.

                                Adrian's great passion is for personal relics- watches, jewellery and wallets that get the digger up close and personal
                                with the men who fought and died. He is a great believer in 'the power of place'- the sense of the past infusing the present at spots where terrible or momentous historical events occurred.

                                "When you hold the object in your hands you feel a special link with the last person who touched it- and it helps you feel what they were going through."

                                Yeah, its called a drivers license. They should have just hired the cast of Jersey Shore to do this, it might be understandable on that level. Snooki would have been a better choice for casting.
