17 Cavalry Regiment / Warner Barracks Bamberg

Today I visited the Warner Barracks in Bamberg.
I am running adds for my search for 17th Cav.Reg items and tunics and received a phone call sometime ago with the question to support an exhibition about about the 17th Cav.Reg.
The barracks are closing in Sept. 2013. The exhibition will be in the barracks in May.
I am interested in this matter as my fathers brother was with the 17th Reg.
Volunteered and shortly fallen in south Italy with an airplane crash on the transfer to Africa. That is also why my dad gave me his name.

    Please check out some impressions.
Much was taken away over the decades.
Every leaving commander received a horse wall ring mounted on wood as a leaving present. Mostly all rings are gone now.

so lets check out the photos of the old horse stabling's (Stallungen).

Beginning outside view of one of the stabling's, there where once around close to 1200 horses there.
2nd photo one of my two sons and half of the orig splitting roll door.

The second photo in frame 6 shows spirit orbs, so the place is haunted. I am not sure if you are in tune with your psychic feelings, but if you are the place should have made you fell somewhat uncomfortable or like you were being watched. (see orbs in the middle, and the right of the photo ,near right edge they especially stand out. That is not dust. Must have been a lot of deaths in the place. I have a 30 nash that is haunted, and every time I take photos of it, they are all around the car, for the first 3 or four shots. Now you may laugh if you please, but I'm telling you straight. I suspect fram nine is an earliershot in the sequence, like maybe1, or 2, of the series you took. Those who have no paranormal experiences and are unaware of orbs existinces, may now proceed to laugh their butts off, the rest are saying, yep, the place has paranormal activity, he is correct.

Maybe the place is haunted or not. Nor I was felling anything special rather paying attention to my two little boys that nothing will happen.

Also maybe some soldiers died from some sort of accidents but killing did not happen in this barrack of any sort.

Before the last shown photo was taken, our guide took some straw up and let it out from his hands. So dust was there enough in the air in the moment I took the photo.

And when you look you find enough info about lens light reflection with dust.
It is about everyones own right to believe in what he wants anyhow.

Not only did the swedes attack bamberg on or around 1634 and caused death through the battleand pilaging , but it resulted in famine of which many suffered greatly and died, but the plague(typhus) hit it in 1635 and only two houses escaped with no deaths. Just because you think there were no deaths there , in ww2 or ww1, bambergs typhus plague nearly infected everyone , so I hope you find information and items for the 17th, but also von stauffenbergs family sent him there to school I believe. There is no doubt from the photos you are not a believer of the existence of orb spirits,(and that is not dust in the photos FYI) or the paranormal,as many do not , but now that you have seen your own photos, have someone who is well versed in paranormal activity in your area have a look at the photos, and mention my observations, and that building would make a good study for EVP's, and activity of the paranormal type by germans who dabble in the hobby with modern electronic devices and infrared cameras, ghost boxes, etc ,and I just hope the spirits didn't follow your children home after visiting that creepy place, as sometimes that can happen ,if so sometimes then strange things can happen in your home that cannot be explained,(like your children seeing people you cannot) the same can happen with collecting the types of things we collect here taken off battle field dead..as some folks have bad experiences till they get rid of the items that at times can be strongly attached to some previous owners spirits. I am not trying to frighten you, but make you aware to pay attention to your gut feelings when going to old places like that.. Best wishes to you on your search for items relating to the 17th at that location, as my observations are not exctly what you were looking for in your thread. .

                      Nice post

Thank you , very interesting pictures

Have to agree on the ghost pics, while I've seen and taken some interesting orb pics...I have to say these are dust.

It doesn't matter for me about these orbs.

See to many people that are getting into something like this and drive deeper into things like this. Look at certain people like on the history channel and they talk about the knights and the people who get interviewed are so much into it that they already look like knights (as an example from many).

Anyhow, those are the only photos I took.
When the exhibition is running I will look to take photos from the exhibition.

Funny world we live in nowadays, where you post pictures of some old barracks and end up with unsolicitated advice about how to prevent the haunted spirits from following your children back home.

Just about every part of the world we live in has seen mass and/or violent death numerous times thoughout history, wether from disease, war, natural disasters, suicides, accidents, or whatever else; so it is a wonder all the photos we take are not infested with orbs.
However, I do see the direct correlation between this dusty old attic that must be about 100 to 150 years old and the attack of the Sweeds in 1634.

Most the buildings were built after WWI. I was there in the 1980s when it was "Warner Barracks" but do not remember too much.

                              Absolute correct Jean.
Those buildings are are from the mid 20-30's.
Closed case for me with this orbs BS. The feeding place was just 2m away from there the dust photos where taken, so there was no dust anywhere then only at the place I took this dust/flash photo.

When someone would bring my kids in charge directly in front of me with this BS he might not forget that what he said only once to me
