General view of museum and Mr H.Billinge attracting some what of a crowd. Yours truly with Mr Billinge. He told me had landed on Gold Beach with 47 (RM) Commando and his task was to blow up beach defences and obstacles he also told me he was also tasked with the blowing up of a radar station a couple of days after D-Day. I had a good long chat with him, bought him a beer and thanked him for his Service to which he replied 'no thanks required mate.' He was very interested in my Grandfather's Service with the 2nd Independent Paras in Italy and Greece as he had had friends deployed there.

Panoramice view from outside the 360 Cinema. An incredible view of the main landing area and a breathtaking panorama that was only bested by the one at Point Du Hoc. Some of the German defences atop the cliff overlooking Arromanches.

On the way back to the hotel we made a pit stop at Carpiquet Airfield. I have read extensively on the battles the 12th SS fought against the Canadians in this area and it felt like some sort of pilgrimage being there.
