Bunker in Norway

We are now inside one of the 3 guard bunkers. To our left but not in the photo is a solid steel door. Through the small opening in front, the guard would try to knock out as many enemys as possible.

We are now outside one of the 3 main entrys that would lead to the deadly guard and later the complex.
Today (1996) this was the only way in for visitors.
It was a very imressive sight to walk up to this bunker system with these 3 large doors. Crawling/walking in and facing that guard made me understand that, if this was war right now, i would already be dead.
I had two tourch lights with me just in case, as there is no daylight in the main complex. Cought in there without a light would not be fun

Nice!! Peter. That would be a great place to do some metal detecting. Things like that make it seem nice to live in Europe

Norway is full of historic places. If you like WW2 stuff, this is heaven.
A guy who run a antique store has showed me what he, with his own hands has picked up in the Norwegian montains. A half Fockewulf 190 with cockpit, the tailfin of a Ju88 (i touched that one with my own hands) with swastica still there, helmets, gasmasks, devices for holding artillery shells and so on.
I have photos of other bunkers. They are all over the place. 15 minutes walk from my place is a flak system that once hold 4 flakguns. I have often wondered what i would find with a metal detector.
This guy of the antique shop has told me about lakes here in Norway full of equipment, and how the hills and mountains still holds lots of stuff. I often visit him to see the stuff. I have seen some realy nice stuff at his place

Thank you, Peter - outstanding tour! I saw that they raised a nearly intact Ju-88 from a fjord in Norway not to long ago - I believe it's in Germany for restoration.
