Can anyone provide more period or present pictures of this eagle, especially its dimension?

              eagle

comparing against the size of the guards in the last pic- I'd say just under 7 ft tall.

              cheers

It looks like in its present condition, one of the wings has dropped off. It is presently in a Moscow museum, is that right?

Wings are detachable, make a hell of a desk ornament.

There are those banners, yes it must be Moscow, unless the display moves around. Imagine getting hold of the banners again. There's a lot of money displayed there.

Load it on a truck and ship to Moscow.

Looks to me they purposly display it on the floor. Don't want to give it any power by placing it in any high positions.

A shrewd observation, it is also displayed on the floor as it was found I suppose.
Given the amount of men lost it is fitting that this item of all things, as well as those banners ended up in Soviet hands.

I also estimate it to be around 7' tall based on the guards being around 6'.
