Great presentation, thanks Felix ! Can we see the top half of the 'guide' and how much did she cost to hire for the day?

A visit to Stalingrad

A very nice story to read
I've been to Russia several times myself (from the big, well known cities like Moscow/Sankt Petersburg to lesser known cities like Rostov-na-Donu and Stavropol to small towns like Dombai and Teberda in the very south) and every trip has been amazing. After reading this report I definitely wanna visit Volgograd as well.
But first up Moscow again in May for the Victory over Germany celebration on the 9th and from there to the south west to visit some of the tank musea.
For those going to Moscow (most obvious choice when visiting Russia) than a visit to the Victory parc with its HUGE WWII museum is a MUST. Besides the obvious Soviet items also many German items are showcased there. For me personally the nicest WWII museum so far!
And just a 2 minute walk from this museum there's an outdoor tank museum with many Soviet and German tanks as well as dozens of airplanes (though most of these planes are post-war yet still very cool to see).
On top there are several bookshops with a vast variety on WWII related books, both about battles as well as reference books for collectors.
Edit: And yes, police is VERY corrupt and stop you for no reason, trying to find any tiny mistake in your visa. Though this can be seen less and less nowadays. Myself I actually feel very much at home thereLast edited by Marcel Banziger; 01-15-2011, 07:01 AM.
