I have visited many military cemeteries, always a feeling of terrible waste.
Thanks for sharing, may they rest in peace.

When traveling through Germany I would often stop and look at the monuments in the small towns showing the names of their war dead from both wars. I was always struck by the amount that died in the last two or three months of the war. Such a waste of youth fighting against the inevitable end.

                        And so?

EVERY human being has a right to be treated as a human being and finally to receive a grave.

The historical fact that brutal - and not only german - individuals in history treated other human beings as if they were just rubbish is not supposed to support the conclusion that these brutal individuals - once they are dead - ought to be treated as rubbish as well.

The bible includes two brutal individuals nailed on the cross together with Jesus and all three are documented - and remembered.

Even if some believe that this is just a story it is an example and symbol what to do when being religious.

Religion is there to make people free - and not to make people silent due to shame, insecurity and fear about discussing certain things.
