Just like most Civil war re enactors had a grandpappy in either blue or gray German re enactors have family who were either in the German army or German Grandparents. Does not apply to all but does most.

If you tomorrow, decided to do some living history you would probably look into your families past for guidence. So really on the re enactment fields on one side you really do have "Germans" in a sense and Americans, English and Aussies on the other in a sense as well. The Russian legion at Newville are mostly Russian heritage some being immigrants, they speak it and drink you under the table with Vodka.

This is comical. You don't "get" reenacting, living history or whatever we want to call it, but you "get" collecting SS stuff. That's hilarious.

is it about the education for spotting the differences? Or "just" missing something?

A collector as me doesn't wear these things I collect them, research them and they sit somewhere safe. As this stuff is valuable and rare.

It's not going out nor I run with it around in public like a stupid politician (example above).

I hadn't heard how the reenactor did so I checked and he lost to the incumbant 117,xxx to 81,xxx so he actually did much better than I thought he would.
I do think the SS uniform thingie did cost him several votes...

Those who voted for him did not have a television or internet. His political career is over!
