    Narwa Front !!

Narwa / Narva the campaign from Feb - September 1944 whcih became known as the Battle of the European SS due to the Foreign Volunteer units of the Waffen SS who fought there.

This is one of my favourite Battlefields to visit and i have been there many times, in the summer of 1944 the casualty rates were so high they have been compared to the WW1 Battle of Verdun.

    German Trenches !!

                Hi Etienne,

Yes Narwa is still my main thing i even do Battlefield Tours to the area , as you know it is one of the best Battlefields to visit !!!

If any members interested in a Tour to this Battlefield please contact me !!

As far as i know there was still a good turnout from the Estonian veterans and their families , not sure if anyone from the Kameradenwerk was there but there was no official trip.
That said i see that Ants Teder and Olaf Taru have both recently passed away

                    Hi

It is indeed a place of the most extreme fighthing place on the east front.
                    I was ther last year.
Is it Kinderheimhohe I see with the tower?
I remember it was quite a observation place those few hills controlling the landscape.

                          Hi Paul,

I heard that they passed away.Sad but true, those men are dying rapidly now.Luckily I have spoken to a lot of them
I don't think there was an official delegation from the ''Kameradenwerk'' this year.I must have heard of it then,I was in Germany in July.
Last year they went with a group.

                          regards,

                          Etienne

                              Hi Paul,

The men are simply too old to undertake long travels. But maybe some of the ''younger'' will undertake such a mission.I'm still looking back on a very interesting visit to Narwa and of course Estonia.Maybe next year.......

Are the stones still undamaged.I heard that they are attacked on a regular basis.

                              regards,

                              Etienne
