Zeppelinfeld....Nurnberg .

Imagine...

In the summer of 1984 when I was a young Private stationed in Germany a bunch of us took the train to Nuernberg for the "Monsters of Rock" concert being held a few hundred meters away in the modern stadium.


Being all we had was our concert tickets, rucksacks, beer and no money and nowhere to stay I ended up spending the night up on that podium. Not for any other reason than it was the only place to get away from the many thousands of people partying all night in the field below and the Dutzendteich area. The bleachers were not there then and as I recall it pretty much looked like it did shortly after the allied demolition activities.

At that time no one really cared about the historical aspects of Zeppelinfeld, particular us who were more interested in beer and all of the girls running around.

Just thought I would throw my Zeppelinfeld experience in. Since then I have driven by many times, but never got out and walked around. Maybe I will next time I am in Nuernberg.
