The correct spelling is: Clermont, and both of these paintings, though Identified as being Clermont, may be nearby but not exactly the locations shown in the photos.

This photo of a German medical unit parked before the Notre Dame cathedral on the main square in Tongeren, was taken by Kriegsberichter Karl Müller during the retreat trough Belgium in the first days of september 1944. From here it is 50 km to Aachen. The statue is that of Ambiorix, a king of the Eburonen, one of the Gaul tribes, he was leading a rebellion against the Romans in the winter of 54 BC.
September 2011, once again a German Wehrmacht vehicle is standing on that square
