D-Day 2009 The Queen isn't invited!!!

    OOOPS!
    I owe Sarkozy an apology - apparently according to the BBC news last night the British (via the British government) were invited but had decided not to go originally as it wasn't a special occasion like the 60 year anniversary - hence no invite to the Queen.

    However someone then pointed out it was 65 years and therefore a bit special - so Gordon Brown then decided someone should go to represent the Brits and that someone should be him - no doubt looking for some good photo ops.

    So it was the British Govt that messed it up apparently - no surprise there then
