I have to respectfully disagree with you there. Virginia does not use the same wool that Ed does. Virginia's wool comes from Europe. I think Ed has his milled here in the US or Mexico. The buttonhole are right on, so I don't know what you mean. She makes the best repo on the planet in my opinion.
I have about a dozen original tunics and by far Virginia's are the best. They are the closest thing to an original I have seen. I like Ed's stuff and it is good for off the rack. His tailoring is excellent, however his wool is slightly to heavy and loose. This is why his tunics get fuzzy when wet.
Virginia's wool is the exact same weight, color, thickness, and denisty as an original wool. She has both a early war wool and a mid war wool.
I agree with you that Janke is crap. I bought a Janhke back in the 90's when they were still the cream of the crop, but they do not slant their top pockets (or didn't). The quality of Janke has suffered considerable in the last 12 years.
Here is a picture of a OTM as compared to an original.

OTM v LB
Here is a comparison of LB, OTM, and an original. The LB is on the right, OTM on the left.

Here is an M-34 tunic she made me. All she had were the pictures in "Feldbluse" to go by.
